How to Export Your Vault

Exporting your vault is a safe way to backup all data to another location or transfer your data across devices securely. Here is how to do it in Krypt.

1. Access Settings

Open Krypt, unlock your vault, and navigate to the "Settings" tab in the bottom navigation bar.

2. Navigate to Export

Tap on the "Export Vault" option in the settings menu.

3. Choose Export Format

You can choose between an Encrypted Export or a Decrypted Export (CSV/JSON).

  • Encrypted Export: Safe transferring of data to a new device or backup location. The backup file remains encrypted using your Vault Rescue Key.
  • Decrypted Export: An unencrypted file that you can read outside of Krypt. Please ensure you save this file in a highly secure location!

4. Save the File

Select your desired format and authenticate. A file will be generated that you can save to your device storage, email to yourself, or upload to your preferred cloud drive securely.
